Need to lose a few extra pounds? You know you don’t have to drink diet teas, drink nasty tasting juice, or starve don’t you? This food cleanse for weight loss is easy and you can eat food. I will give you a list of foods to eat and foods not to eat. So get ready to look and feel Amazing!
Did you know that sugar is the new fat? Americans eat 150 pounds of sugar a year. That’s 22 teaspoons a day and kids eat 34! Wow! The average American also eats 146 pounds of flour a year. Did you know that flour raises your blood sugar more than sugar? It is an addiction and should be a drug in my opinion, because of the health problems it can cause. It’s funny to see the commercials about different drugs and then watch the disclaimer about the side effect, they are longer than the information about the drug. Well, if there was a commercial about sugar it would be the same, sugar can cause cancer (feeds it), type 11 diabetes, weight gain and all the problems that comes along with that, insulin resistance (weight gain), non alcoholic liver disease (from the sugar fructose), foggy brain and neurotransmitter imbalance, cholesterol, and so much more. How much sugar did you eat over the Holidays?
I am going to help you detox with this awesome food cleanse for weight loss. Make sure you clean out your cabinets and refrigerator before you start. The weight loss is going to come from water weight that you are holding, if you ate lots of carbs, like cookies and candy. To keep the weight off and have more energy follow this for a lifetime!
1) Eat these foods to help you detox and get rid of toxins. Put them in your recipes, soups, and smoothies.
Avocados – they provide heart healthy fat and help cleanse the liver pathway.
Beets – contains betalains a powerful anti inflammatory with fungicide properties. They promote cell structure repair and regeneration.
Broccoli – rich in cruciferous and helps to reduce the risk of cancer.
Collard greens – increases bile acid binding and helps excrete them from the GI track. Helps keep the LDL bad cholesterol in check.
Dandelion root – increases urine production.
Asparagus – detox and anti-aging have a glutathione effect which blocks at least 30 different carcinogens.
Other herbs, spices, and foods to include:
Flaxseed – cinnamon – fennel – green tea – lemon – lime – milk thistle – kale – onion – garlic – basil – ginger – gooseberries – turmeric root – parsley
Do not eat or drink
Dairy – gluten or wheat – processed sugar – soy – coffee – soda – alcohol – beef or pork (for the first 3 weeks) – peanuts – corn oil or any other vegetable oil – whey protein
Energy!
2) Do these things everyday
Drink lots of water! – Start with 8 to 10 oz upon raising with lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar.
Eat fiber rich foods – greens, cherries, oats (gluten-free), prunes, pears, figs, vegetables, lentils, flax and chi seeds and beans.
Take supplements – magnesium cirate, multi, vitamin B complex, pro-biotic, and digestive enzymes.
Eat healthy fats to fill you up – avocado, coconut oil, and olive oil
3) Other things you can do to detox
Lift weights – with less rest in-between sets.
Do some type of cardio – make sure you sweat.
Infrared sauna – helps pull out toxins deeper than a regular sauna. Sweating is one of the body’s most natural ways to eliminate toxins, making it a crucial part of detoxification http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-12265/6-benefits-of-infrared-sauna-therapy.html
Body brushing – many naturopathic doctors use dry brushing to help with bloating because massaging the lymph nodes helps the body shed excess water http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2014/02/24/dry-skin-brushing.aspx
Rebounding – The benefits of rebounding include detox, weight loss, cellulite reduction and more.
Massage – it is not only a great way to relax but also aids your body in the removal of toxic waste.
laugh – Lift Laugh Eat and Repeat
Here is what my one day detox meal plan looks like:
Upon raising 8 to 10 oz water with hand squeezed lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar
Meal 1 – 1/2 cup cooked oats with 1 teaspoon chi seeds, berries, and 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
Green smoothie (see recipe below)
Water
Meal 2 – 2 handfuls of all the greens I can find – Kale, dandelion greens, spinach , swiss chard, 3 to 4 different types of vegetables and 3 oz of chicken
Water
Meal 3 – 3 to 4 oz of chicken, turkey, or wild caught fish, 1/2 cup of wild rice or 1/2 sweet potato, and 1 to 2 cups of vegetables
Water
Snack if I need one – hummus with veggies and a few cherries
Add the herbs, spices, and the detox foods to the meals above. Make it a habit to eat these daily.
As you can see I am not starving myself. This is how we should be eating all the time with a little more fruit thrown in. Eat until your satisfied not stuffed! Don’t eat foods that make you sick and tired. Don’t eat foods that take more nutrition from your body to digest them than they give you. JUST EAT REAL FOOD!
My go-to Green Smoothie Recipe
Makes about 2 mason jars
INGREDIENTS
Hand full of spinach
Hand full of kale
Hand full of any other greens that I have
1 carrot
1⁄4 fresh parsley
1 inch of ginger
1⁄2 inch of turmeric root
1⁄2 cup pineapple
1 granny smith apple
2 cups of cold water
I throw all of it in my Vitamix blend for 30 to 60 sec. and it’s ready. I drink one right away, and put the rest in mason jars for later or the next day.
The best food plan is the one that I can do every single day, regardless of the time of day, the day of the week or time of year. So you make your meal plan and don’t stress over it. Let me know what question or problems you run across.

This is perfect! You’ve got it all completely laid out here for us. And having read it, I now have no excuses. Although it does pain me to see dairy, soda and coffee on the list of things not to drink.
