Menu and Tips for not Gaining Weight Thanksgiving Week

turkey menu and tips for staying lean Thanksgiving

I know, the Holidays are coming up too fast! I think we can all use a healthy menu and tips for staying on track this holiday.

Everyone needs a nutrition and exercise plan for Thanksgiving week, right? Don’t gain weight because it’s the season. Think about the upcoming events and party’s. You don’t want to be the one that looks puffy from eating too many carbs.

The menu below is not for Thanksgiving day but for the days before and after.

Here are some tips to keep you looking and feeling good for the holidays.

  1. Exercise – yes, exercise more! Make sure you get your weight training sessions in and put in a couple of cardio high-intensity exercise sessions. On Turkey day, work out in the morning and take a walk after dinner.
  2. Eat breakfast. It doesn’t have to be a lot, try to eat at least 300 calories. Otherwise, you might be tempted to over eat your “turkey day” meal.
  3. Eat small portions and don’t go back for seconds.
  4. Pick one dessert and eat a small piece.
  5. Drink water all day and with dinner. Save the one glass of wine for later that evening.
