7 Books That Will Help You Get Lean And Healthy

Books help you get lean & healthy

Happy New Year!

It’s the “time of year” to set new goals and make better lifestyle choices. I have to admitted that I ate a little more sugar then I should have over the holidays, but I am ready to get back on track and I know you are too. Following are 7 Books that will help you get lean and healthy. These book will educate you on how to make better choices in your everyday life. I find that the more I am educated the more changes I make to better my health.

I hope you read last weeks blog on detox and clean foods to eat. If not you can find it here, https://elitephysiquesinc.com/2014/12/try-this-awesome-food-cleanse-for-weight-loss/

1)”Eat Move and Be Healthy” by Paul Chek

It is a personalized 4 step guide to looking and feeling great from the inside out. This is my number 1 book! It covers everything from nutrition, stress and cortisol, sleep wake cycles, functional exercises, stretching, the digestive system, leaky gut syndrome and so much more. If you were going to only read one of these books this is the one I’d recommend.

2) “The MD Emperor Has No Clothes”, Everyone is sick and I know why, by Peter Gidden BS, ND

I first heard of “The MD Emperor Has No Clothes”, on The Underground Wellness podcast (Love this podcast!!!) By the way if you don’t want to get Alzheimer’s disease read this book!!! You can listen to the podcast here; http://undergroundwellness.com/?s=the+MD+emperor The information in the interview was so good I couldn’t wait to get the book. However,I had a problem with the beginning of this book, Glidden, studied Naturalpathic Medicine and doesn’t have a lot of good thing to say about MD’s but don’t let that stop you from reading the book. Glidden admits Allopathic care has its place which it does when extreme trauma and surgery must be done. However, I fully agree with his main point in the book that Allopathic drugs only mask symptoms but never cure the diseases (with the exception of antibiotics). This book has a 5 star rating on Amazon.

3) “The Power Of Metabolism” by Frank Suarez

This book is about the causes and solutions to the “slow metabolism” that is creating weight problems and an obesity epidemic. He talks about how to use your metabolism to lose weight and keep it off. Suarez, also warns that this is not a diet that diets do not work! Amen! The book provides solutions for: a slow metabolism, weight problems, obesity, diabetes, and hypothyroidism.

4) “The Diet Cure” by Julia Ross

I love this book and also her book”The Mood Cure”. Ross, obliterates the myths to reveal the truth about the causes of why we overeat and gain weight. She begins with a symptom questionnaire to identify your biochemical imbalances. You will then lean how to use nutrition and amino acid supplements to help you with cravings, mood swings, and energy. I have taken amino acids for both diet and for mood and they work! Amino acids work on the neurotransmitters and help to balance them. Call me to learn more.

5) “The Tao of Detox” by Daniel Reid

Daniel Reid combines traditional Eastern practices and the latest of modern Western thinking to offer detoxification methods that can repair in seven to ten days, much of the long-term damage done. He uses breathing exercises, massage, yoga and tai chi to help the body to heal itself. I love learning about Chinese medicine and how you can heal  everything from chronic pain, fatigue, heart decease, cancer, diabetes, arthritis, gut problems and more. I would rather use herbs, exercise, detox, and oils to help with heath problems, than to take drugs that cause other decease and even death. What about you?

6) “The Beauty Detox Foods” by Kimberly Snyder

In this book you will discover the top 50 beauty foods that can transform your body. Also included are over 85 recipes. Snyder covers quite a bit in this book. She writes about digestive enzymes, probiotics, acid v’s alkaline, and more. The book is easy to read with great photos. I enjoyed reading this book and have lots of pages bookmarked.

7) “The Metabolic Typing Diet” by William Wolcott

Of course I have this book included in my list. I eat for my Metabolic Type (MT). I leaned about MT about 12 years ago when I was studying with Paul Chek. I was tired every afternoon and could barely stay awake to train my afternoon clients. I had low energy and could not seem to get the last 5-7 pounds off. Two days after following my MT I had so much energy, no more walking around like a zombie and after 2 weeks lost 6 pounds. I have done MT with hundreds of clients and it works. However you have to follow it just like anything else. It’s a lifestyle and well worth the journey!
